I have a '83 380sel and the front passenger electric window will not go down. I have taken the door panel off and checked the circuit - all is well there. Do I have to take the whole mechanism apart to check the motor? Could there be another problem? I assume that if the gears of the mechanism were distorted would I still here the motor working, is this correct?
