Euro W123 Parts
I need some help with finding parts for my 1980 280 Euro. Chassis 123030 engine 110923, gas with carb and transmission 020458 18. All of the parts sites I go to don't have my car. Are any of the US spec cars compatible with my car. Are there any places that specialize in Euro-spec W123's. I am not finding any helpful info with my searches.
Some guidance would be appreciated. Thanks. |

It all depends on the particular part needed. Many Euro parts are compatible with US models and many not. Since you're in Portland, I suggest you talk to Sig at MBI Motors on Hawthorne St SE. He might be able to help.

I'd say it's about 90% common parts and 10% USA-specific.
No carb M110s in USA, of course. As you may know, MBUSA provides free access to its entire USA model parts system at http://epc.startekinfo.com For $12/year you can expand this subscription to include all models worldwide. I've done that and I can see your 123030. Of course, this isn't an "ordering" just a "lookup" site, but I suspect you're going to have to do the work here and starting with the part number is the first step. I order "Euro" parts from http://www.speed-autoteile.com

Forget the web site catalogs. They're one-size-fits all, and as you've noticed, that doesn't help much.
Call a supplier and talk to a human, like Phil here at the Fast Lane. If he can help, he will. -CTH PS. That was worth being post #3,000 I hope |

Quote:
Sometimes you've got to look at where the application was used. For example, no USA version of your engine was imported for your W123 chassis. However, MBUSA did import a M110 engined car using the W114 chassis called the 280. They also had the engine in the W116 280S. Finding parts for those engines will likely get you what you need for yours.... But then there's the waterpump for a M110. Euros are euros, USA is different. Owning a euro version requires some additional work and knowledge. That's why they tend to be cheaper in the marketplace. Jim

I found this for you
This is a page for your car from the Romanian or Russian site. It is not always complete with all part numbers, but does have or shows most of them, and I find it much easier to use then the Mercedes EPC. The first URL shows your car, the second one is to access the whole site car page. If when the page comes up and it is a pale yellow or pink tone, scroll down untill you get it on screen.
