Changing oil pan gasket -M104
I have a leaking oil pan and the dealer has a tech service bulletin out that says I should seal the rear part of the gasket as there is not enough surface pressure. http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V15328927~C45398~R0~OD~N/0/34870055/56621118/136559444/136559446/34853741/100411974/34853743/34872058/34855607/120882205
Car is a W124 M104 300CE--- Should this be done? They recommend a loctite 5900 sealant. Is there a better alternative? Is there a NM for the bolts on the pan?

If the engine has made it 17 years & just started leaking?? I doubt that bulletin applies.
Using a sealer together with a gasket is RARELY needed. IF needed a very small amount of sealer should be used.

Really don't know how long it has been leaking as I bought the car used.
Are the pan bolts torqued? If so what is the spec?

6mm bolts torque to 10Nm & the 8mm ones to 25Nm.
