1998 E300D coolong system

I would like to drain the cooling system on my 1998 E300D. Is the drain plug for the block on the passenger side and is it easily accesible from above,ie. without getting under the car. Also, is the radiator drain plug gotten to without removing any of the bottom panels. Thank you for any advice.

You will have to get under the car to take out the drain plug for the block and you will have to remove the front lower panel to drain the radiator.

I just changed the coolant in my 1997 E320. What a pain to remove the lower panel. I thought about cutting a hole for the future but did not do it. So many screws and I had to push a few corners in installing.

I do not want to offend anyone who enjoys doing their own work to their vehicles, but on such a recent model vehicle, why does one insist on doing the work themselves given the potential negatives? Is the compelling factor the abundant need to fulfill a desire of working "under the hood"?

Thank you all for your advice. I will save my surgical fingers for something more enjoyable than a coolant change.
