Auxiliary fan non functional

1991 Mecedes 2.6 300e, Auxiliary fans is not working. Checked all fuses, resistor & switch on drier...all OK. If I maually spin the right fan with the a/c on, then the fan will spin until I switch the ignition off. The engine does overheat in slow & stopped traffic.
How do I remove these two fans if need be to replace them?

Sound like you need some new brushes and definitely cheaper than replacing those fans. Take a look at the EPC for your car on Aux fan removal here.

Pull the connector off the blu sensor at the thermo housing, key ON and see if you have high fans..if they don't come on , give the center hub a wack w/rubber hammer after verifying you can spin them freely by hand.

The brushes may be hung up......

Have you monitored high side pressure. That is what turns the fan on. If you don't have excessive high side pressure the fan won't come on. To verify the circuit and fan functionality, you could disconnect the high temp/high pressure switch and short it to ensure that the fan and circuitry are operational. If they are then the only way to confirm further is with manifold gauges.

He has already verified a/c sw cut-in ...the problem is the fan motors themselves..which is why he wants to apply high fan with coolan temp sensor Default.
