Question 94 E320 Windshield Weatherstrip

I removed the wiper assembly together with the big rubber seal that goes all the way along the lower front windshield.
This big rubber seal has a lip that must be inserted into a strip that is attached directly to the windshield glass. This "strip" seems to be made out of aluminum covered with rubber, and has a cross section with two "U" profiles: one to attach it (pressed) directly along the bottom windshield glass edge, and a second U profile that faces up, and where the lip of the big rubber seal is inserted.

Does anyone in the Forum knows the part number for this "strip". Mine is in pieces and I need to replace it.

Sounds as though you're asking about item #47 on the attached image.

Item 47: P/N 001-987-24-60 "Rubber Pad, Garnish Moulding, 650 mm" (order by the meter)

The part that Cal is showing is for pre cabin air filter 124's.

I believe the part that attaches to the bottom of the windshield comes with the windshield and is not available separately. Many get broken when people change the cabin filter and are not careful re-installing the rubber seal. I'd be interested if someone has a source as mine was broken and I had to repair it with glue.

Cal and Rick,

Thank you for the replies. I've seen the diagram attached by Cal, but unfortunately part 47 is not what I need.

What Rick says seems to be exactly the case. I'm planning on stopping by the dealer and see if they can give me any clue.

Has anyone solved the problem of which part nos. are involved? Are there workarounds or alternative methods of repair?
