I had this when the car was new to me.. I found it took a few jabs to reset to zero in a way that it would spin again.. Lately, one jab will do it. Sort of self corrected. Pretty sure this is lubrication related. I find quick sharp jabs better than sluggish pushes on the button work better. Not crazy hard jabs, just quick ones. I found it was actually necessary to do this while driving to get it to synch up again, but now I can do it at the fuel stop. It sort of worked itself out count me lucky I guess.

I have a cluster apart on my bench and I'll be taking my daily driver's out to give it better gauge illumination today. I might give a shot of graphite or two in some areas, or lithium grease, or whatever else seems to be used in the critical areas.
