The boot is on all of them. Many parts on these cars are shared along different models.....the W126 has many parts from the 123 and 116 on it....and so on.....they keep the part number original to the car it was introduced with, even if the part continues to be used on later chassis.

Agreed, but 202 came after 201. I don't remember a boot on my 190E, but that was oh so long ago ...
