90 300ce low rpm stumble

i just picked up a 90 300 ce with an AMG body rims and suspension.
its a nice car outa arizona, with 140000 original miles on it.
i seem to have a stumble up until i get it past 2200rpm., she kinda bucks, almost like its getting to much fuel,or air?? it runs strong and steady on the hyway, or after 2200 rpm.... i can kinda feather the throtle until i get it past 2gs....anyone encounter this ...i wouldnt mind some insight before i start changing everything.
i love the 124's.. ive had a 300e e320 now 300ce,and three 500e's..everytime i sell a 500e, i regret it, but im keeping my 92 500e silver on grey with full servce records .

Had a similar experience with the 1991 300CE I bought with 100,000 miles on the odometer. Replacing the oxygen sensor cured the stumble. Check the maintenance records for your 1990 300CE to see when the oxygen sensor was replaced last.

zrone, note that failure to maintain the ignition system components (sparkplugs, wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor and coil) can cause the ignition control module (ICM) to fail. Paid $1,750 for a new ICM for our daughter's 1991 300CE when the original one failed.

Be sure to check the maintenance records for evidence of routine maintenance of the ignition system. In the absence of records it would be wise to inspect all the components and replace, as required.

Usually the oxygen sensor is the culprit on these models. I replaced everything known to man but when I replaced the O2 sensor, that was it.

Glad to know that it is an inexpensive solution to your problem. I also picked up a 1990 300CE with 168K three weeks ago but I am still struggling with emission issues.
On my list are air filter (done), spark plugs (done 2x), spark plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, oxygen sensor. So the basics as M.B Doc said.

Edit: I saw a brochure of 300CE with the badge saying 300CE-24, does your ride has also that badge or simply 300CE like mine?

Our rides do have 24 valves, right?
