Update on 'dodgy' E55

Some of you will remember my post a couple of months back concerning my dad's purchase of a 1999 E55.
When we recieved the vehicle reg documents, all the details were wrong, and it was an gray import.
We were assured by the dealer that they would sort everything out, so we relaxed for a while.
We had a phone call yesterday from the salesman at the showroom to say that the entire management team had been sacked, for doing this sort of thing.
We have been offered a different car or some compensation.

I was amazed at this news, this is a Mercedes Main dealer!!

Thanks for all the help people

I always wondered why identical cars would cost £2k more at a Mercedes Dealer than any other reputable outlet. It's to pay the bail money!

Oliver,

So is it or isn't it a genuine E55? If it's not an E55, what is it?

The whole sales team was sacked? Bullocks if it was one big PR gimmick.

But, whats the new car coming in place?

The good thing is, it is a real E55. It's a gray import though so it's worth a lot less.
I don't think my dad has ever been 100% happy with the car anyway. He loved his W140, he's not used to the harsh suspension of the E55.
It looks like we'll pay a bit extra and get a 2001 S500.

It seems to be turning out OK now thankfuly!!

BTW, I had a job interview with MB last week, hopefuly I should hear back this week!

For the record, I still love MB. Tell your dad to try out the new 2002/3 BMW 745i and compare it to 2001/2 MB S500. Then tell us your dad experience on both cars. It is always nice to have something compare to.
