1985 380SE (3.8 SOHC) firing order help

so my brother-in-law was changing wires cap rotor and plug for a frioend. he said he crossed something and cant get it to run right. I found the order 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2. cylinders are 1234 on pass. side 5678 on driver. Still not running correctly. Maybe I have wrong numbers on cap? there are two bolts for cap, can someone clarify the order on the cap in relation to the two screws? I cant figure out what we are missing> any help would be greatly appreciated. we are both american v8 guys and the mercedes thing is diffrent to us. I love the car! Just new to it. I can tell you that this is much easier to work on. They built these cars to be serviced and to last! Thanks again.
