1996 E230 Serpentine Belt change

Hi guys,

My Belt has fine cracks on the ribbed side and I understand this means it's near the end of its life.

Question is how do you change it. IE - Does it have a manual tensioner or an automatic tensioner and how do you release the tension

And the answer is, put a ring spanner on the nut on the front of the tensioner turn anti clockwise, hold and remove the belt.

Release the tensioner, sit the new belt over all the pulleys except the tensioner. Remove tension again and slip the belt over the edge of the tensioner pully.

Done - took me 3 minutes.
