16V Cylinder Head Cleaning

16V Cylinder Head Cleaning

I removed the cylinder head from my 16V. It has some carbon deposits on the cylinder roof and valves that are really hard and tough to remove. What is the best way to remove the carbon build up. Is it safe to have a shop hot tank the aluminum head? Any other ideas?
