A remote possibility is the SLS valve. How's the rear riding?

Get under there and check the SLS linkages and sway bar setup, make sure it's not bound up in some incorrect position. When the valve is in a position where it is partially open, it can make a hydraulic groaning sound. If you have a busted accumulator, the constant pressure bleed could be enough to keep the valve open slightly, generating this noise.
Thanks for the reply!

I am waiting for a call from my indy to schedule it in for a 'look/see'. This is simply a job I will not take on as I just don't have the time for the car to be down as long as it is sure to take!

Any idea what I am likely to spend for this, assuming it is a bearing? Not a good time for a sizable repair bill I must say since tires were on my to-do list as well as a trip to FL over Christmas! Oh well...sometimes you are the bug, sometimes the windshield!
