2001 SLK320 Re-charge battery, or tow to storage?
Hello from a newbie.
I just inherited a 2001 fully loaded SLK320 that has been sitting covered out in the yard in Massachusetts for a good two years or so. I am having renovations done to the house and have to move the car from the driveway into storage until spring. Do you think it would be a good idea to replace the battery and try to get it running before a few (more) months of storage, or just have to towed there and deal with it in the spring? Thank you for any and all advice. |

Since the car has been sitting for a few years I would recommend flat bed towing the car to the storage location, providing that the car is not going too far. A long distance tow could quickly add up making it more reasonable to get the car into running condition. How has it been kept? Any service records? I would suggest going over the car carefully in the spring , and having crucial things such as brakes and suspension components examined closely.
