Got my new insert and hood release tab. When I bought my car the hood release was missing.

So I decided to test fit the release into the grill. It fits if I put the arrow part facing down and put it through from the back. Bit I would expect the arrow to be up. I can not put it through the screen from the front, its too big.

So anyone have some close-up pics I can study?

Hi. I sell these myself and I am always removing them from several of the older chassis models.
The arrow is face up. To install, raise hood slip the arrow tip through the grill from behind it just enough to align the mounting bolt/screw.
Insert bolt/screw along with a spacer if your car uses one and you should be good to go.

Got it. I was trying to install it at a 90 degree to grill face. So straight on. Just put it in at an angle and bingo. Total duh moment for me.
