190E glove box light
hello, I am trying to fix my broken glove box light.
the switch does not receive 12V on ignition like it should. there is an aftermarket head unit installed. I have searched and ran continuity tests all over the wires in the area that goes to the cigarette lighter and the radio, but I cannot find which wire the switch is powered from. does anyone know off the top of their head which wire it is? i am about to give up and solder a new wire to the cigarette lighter 12V. |

Just a heads up, but the switch may switch the ground side of the light, not the hot side. You have also made sure that the problem isn't the bulb, right? Just because it looks OK doesn't mean it is.

i understand that the switch may be switching the ground side, and it is. there is a brown and brown striped gray wire that the switch connects.
there is a green/yellow/black wire that the bulb connects to on the positive side. I eventually found the wire which ends at some weird 4 wire plug. I will probably resolder this to the cigarette lighter. Last edited by John5788; 04-23-2011 at 09:30 PM. |
