Can't say about the support on the 300E's, but every other one I have seen has been straight. So, it should mount to the exhaust in line with where it mounts to the tranny. I would highly suggest, if the support looks bent, get a new one. Also get a bushing kit for the support mount, the kit is only about $15.00, includes new rubbers, bolts, washers and U-bolt.
