Neat stuff

Forgot to mention the double stop hood (bonnet) hinges! You could pull an engine and not need to remove the hood (bonnet).

The 5 link rear suspension on the back of the W201, W124 and every MB after that which maintains perfect camber and toe throughout its travel. Its been copied and polished by every other luxury car manufacturer since and still used to this day.

BMW called it the "Z axle" for zentrum or center pivot when they showed it off on the Z1, E36 and every BMW that followed.

When I first saw the 5 link rear suspension years ago, I thought, why doesn't every car have this? One of the most brilliant innovations I've seen. Nowadays I look at newer cars to see which of them have copied it. Sometimes you can spy me on my knees in the parking lot at work looking under some car, just to see what's holding the rear tires in place.

I don't understand the recirculating pump. Doesn't the waterpump move the coolant around just fine?

To an extent. The small pump makes the flow constant, which makes the heating from the climate control even.

5 years of ownership - 1992 and 1995 W124s, total 70K miles

5. Extra signal cable for power antenna - cellphone was an option on 1992
4. Left and right special low-power parking light control - to safe some battery, when parking
3. Mid sun-visor
2. Countless mechanical features.
and the winner :
1.Second hole is per-drilled on the rear panel for the trunk lid, in case trunk - closing spring loosing tension.

I wish we could design software like this

You are not supposed to use it outside - be careful on the high winds

Or are you talking about 1986 to 1995?

Mine locks when I have it in this position, wind does not affect it. Maybe there was a revision?

The lock isn't very strong. It's a big hood, so a good gust will make a sinifigant force for the little lock to deal with.

Everyone please remember to put your hood down so the electric garage door doesn't mess it up.
