New Brake Light Switch does not match old one

The new brake light switch is on the right and is genuine Mercedes. The old one is on the left. Notice there are two more small pin connectors near the bottom on the new one. Is this some type of upgrade? The old connector only has TWO holes to fit the old switch. What gives?

for the 1991 560SEL.....

OK, I have the brake light switch installed. The two prong connector works find but that still leaves the two smaller metal prongs with no plug plugged into them. I'm about to begin testing on the brake light switch, will post updates as I progress.......

The smaller extra contacts could be for a car equipped with ASR.
