om603 ('87 300d) in a '93 300d???

Hello,

I have a '93 300d with a very tired om602.
Found a nice running 0m603 in a 1987 300d.
I can buy the whole doner car for a great price,
but I'm wondering how the swap will go. Here
are some issues I'm concerned about: firewall
clearance, length on transmission (bell), any
newer control crap that was added to that body
in 1990.

Does anyone think this is a worthy project, or should
I just re-ring (freshen up) the 602. What I was planning
was to hone, re-ring, rod-bearings, timing chain, glow-
plug, injectors, ect...

I hope someone can steer me in the right direction (HELP) !
