rebuilt fuel distributor,1991 190E 2.6
Hi gang just-n-time here with a question, I sent off my fuel distributor from our 190E for a rebuild as it failed and dumped fuel into the engine and placed it in a non start condition, I have it back along with all the testing numbers from our friends at ( CIS FLOW TECH LIc.) Lary was very helpful and his price was quite good. If any of you need his service his CIS Flow Tech
19225 county rd 13 Fairhope AL. 36532 Larry owner Phone 251 929 3771 Now on to the question I have, after rerinstall and setting the potentiometer at .07 KOEO polls 1&2. I have not had any success with it running, if I press down on the plate and try again it fires and dies, so my though is that I am not getting fuel, and so I have continued to turn the screw clock wise till It now has no free play in the air chamber plate. should I go to the trouble of removing the mas. and energizing the fuel pumps independently? I do not think that would help but I would like some input from the home team. Thanks for your time JNT |

Pins 1 & 2 on the MAS are for the fuel pump, bridging those 2 should allow the fuel pumps to operate.

Thanks Doc on the pin location, after removal of the mas I ran the pumps and tried it again, and I am getting the same results(fires and dies after pressing on the horn plate) I have turned the fuel adjusting screw counter clock wise and now have a rapid plate fluctuation when it fires. I have taken the fuel distributor and top half of the air chamber, back off. I am looking for vacuum leaks but have found nothing. Any suggestions? I know some one has done this before me . thanks in advance for any input. JNT

Since your distributor has been rebuilt (was EHA sent to Larry too?) it should be flowing well.
I would make sure there are no issues backwards of the fuel distributor. Pull the return line off the fuel pressure regulator and fashion a hose into a bucket. Jump fuel pump relay and run it for 40sec. You want 1L in 40sec IIRC. Anything less and you have a restriction from the pump or filter(s). Its a 10-15 minute test. If you have removed the distributor body yourself, you can definitely do this test. Larry rebuilt my distributor and the chamber tolerances were GREAT (less than 3% fuel volume variance between cylinders...you can't beat THAT!). Another big thumbs up for Larry at CISFlowtech. Extremely friendly and honest...heck, you are the one who runs out of time on the phone before him!!

Yes that is true he likes to keep up with current affairs. he did the job and I am sure it is correct but I am having an issue with finding that magical spot for it to run at all. I am going to recheck the potentiometer and re look at the injector flow too. once you push down on the inlet horn it starts for a second and runs out of fuel so I believe I just have not hit the spot yet.
