Should I buy a 200t?

Hey gang.
Found a 1982 Euro 200t for sale locally for $1000. It has lots of miles, and is so-so cosmetically.
However, it has manual everything, and it's a wagon. And, it was professionally lowered and has nice rims with brand new tires. No rust.
I test drove it and it handles well and stops in about half the time as my 300D. Clutch is good.
The seller told me he was going to swap in a carbed 302/5spd and it bolts right in with new motor mounts. I was thinking I might finish the job.
Or swap in another carbed MB motor?
What does everyone think?
