ABS light logic
190 2.3 16V- Problems is ABS light does not light when ignition turned on. Can someone advise the logic for the operation of this light. It appears to have three connections, one from electrical centre (term 15) which I assume activates the light when ignition turned on but how does it de-activate supply when engine still running?. Another from term 7 on ABS pump connector which I assume provides signal indicating fault condition with system and another connection from light to ABS control unit (term 29) which again, I assume provides signal confirming that light is activated. At present I have no signal from term 7 on ABS pump to light (engine not running), or is it that the ABS control unit provides all the light activation signals only when engine running or vehicle moving
Any help appreciated. |

Have you replaced the bulb?
If not! do. Still no light? Replace OVP! Still no light? Check connections on the ABS unit! Still no light? Replace ABS control unit.

Or maybe the light is not in the abs socket. I thought my abs never came on until I removed the cluster, come to find out the light was on, it just got dislodged from the instrument cluster and so the abs sign never illuminated even though the light did come on.

Many thanks. ABS light bulb OK and is not illuminated with OVP removed and link on OVP plug terms 1&2, 12V supply to ABS control unit (plug term.1) is OK so it's either OVP (new but possible dry joint)or as you say ABS control unit.
