tbh I trust electric fans more than I do mechanical, They move more air compared to an engine at idle (we have 3 tunnels and lots of traffic around me as well as 100 degree plus days in the summer), I also have the ability to manually control this one.

Is it mounted to the radiator through the fins?

Interesting - though I'm not sure I'd have mounted them there.

If they are LSx coil packs, that is where they would be on the motor they came off of, if heat is your concern.

I was also thinking about vibration but mainly I was thinking "is there enough room between the top of the engine and the bonnet"

vibration wise it will be fine, they are hard mounted to the valve cover on the vehicle they are off of, clearance is my only worry but I will be taking some measurements later today. I plan on laser cutting a new bracket so that it fits properly on the 190 valve cover

here they are in a stock configuration
