..instead of conventional car rental...

Looking for ideas - interested in renting

W124 / W201 in London, UK or Edinburgh

Period 3 to 5 weeks
Starting end of March.
Details, price - negotiable.

I have a feeling car rental places in the UK have probably not been renting any W124 or W201's for about 1.5 decades at this point.... Rarely do you see cars much over 3-5 years old at any rental agency....

Why would someone who lives in the UK rent their personal car to a complete stranger from another country. Can you say GIANT liability? I think you should go rent a new C-class and enjoy the ride. They are quite nice

Another idea, ask a seller of some used ones if he can do a rental. If you're staying a few weeks, you can just buy and throw away and still come out ahead.

Car insurance in the UK is pretty much driver specific for normal people - not many people have any driver policies

Hiring "classic vehicles" is always at a premium.
