What would one do? Without a forum like this?
I just had a hole fixed in my leather seat at a local upholstery shop. Was thinking, while your in there can you see if the previous owner's upholstery shop reversed the wiring?
None of the interior lights worked. I put bulbs in the dome light and they worked with the on/off switch, but not the setting controlled by door jamb switch. It turned out that the Driver's door jamb would only work by pressing the switch deeper than the door could possibly push it. So the previous owner removed all the interior light bulbs so the battery would not drain. The switch costs $8.12 tax included. It took one minute swap the bad one out and replace with new one. Now the interior lights work. Also, when locking the car communicates visually with three blinks that it is locked. Water leaking in the trunk? Put a small swimming pool in the trunk to catch the water!
