M104 Valve cover removal/replacment
Just out of curiosity, is it hard to remove and replace the valve cover on an M104? Particualrily for a 1992 300CE 3.0 litre engine.
Since my car is outta comission for a few weeks, I want to possibly take off the cover, give it a good ol cleaning, check my valve clearances and all while I am at it. I know I will have ot replace a gasket. I also have the CD manuals. Does it involve a lot or is it fairly simple to do? I wouldn't mind pulling mine to clean the outside and give it some nice powdercoating or a nice new paint finish on it to make it look just nicer. Just thinking of doing this though, I havent decided if I will or not, but was thinking it would make for a fun weekend project. I've done valve covers on an MGB and a Chevy V-8, but those were real easy to do. The benz just looks well more involved than just undoing some bolts and popping that sucker off. Alon
