someone must know the answer! Please Please??

This is for a 92 W140

l used a pump with a different part number bought on ebay...works just fine.

You won't happen to know the exact part number you have from E-Bay would you? The reason I asked is that MB seems to have made 4 pumps for the close assist function. 140 800 07 48 being the first of its kind and later replaced by 140 800 08 48 (the one I have now). These 2 pumps are for the early models (I think you and I have the same early models)

Later models, uses different pump 140 800 1x 48 and later replaced by 140 800 17 48.

I really wonder which one you had before and which one you replaced it with. My parts man seems to think they are NOT interchangable but the pump for the early model car cost 70% more.

mine was an 09 and the new one is a 17, was actually a used unit. The only difference l could see was the orientation of the 'SK' terminal relative to the other four. l paid less than $60 on ebay vs around $600 from the dealer.
