2007 c230 cel code 1200

Looking at a car with a code 1200, does the motor has to come out to fix? crazy!

Does code1200 requires an engine dismantling to repair?

Codes 1200 mean that the balance shaft in the engine needs to be replaced

On the M272 the engine is removed. Next, the timing chain cover comes off. Same for the oil pan.

On the M273 the engine is left in the vehicle. The M273 has no balance shaft but the idler gear has the same issue as the shaft gear on the M272.

Dis-assembly/re-assembly is pretty straightforward, it's timing the engine that'll get you in trouble.
