I've noticed that nearly all older Benzes (mine included) have noticeable cracks in the wood trim. When pulling off a panel I noticed that the cracks were only in the thick lacquer finish, not in the wood itself. Has anyone attempted to refinish the wood?

Yes and the color is always off. The wood is expensive but looks good when replaced.

I went to a foliatec dealer for my dash and I bought some Carbon Fiber Tape. Its basically a giant sticker that I put on and it covers it all up and it looks damn good.
