300CE M103 no start
Went to move my 1989 300CE out of the garage this morning and it would not start. It turns over strong but will not fire. If I depressed the throttle I could get it to catch and run for about one second before it would die. After a few tries I noticed I could not hear the fuel pump as it normally primes before starting. I quickly swapped over my fuel pressure regulator and OVP relay to no avail. Still can't hear the fuel pump when I turn the key.
In the past few weeks it has been hard to start and would often die after a minute but would restart and stay running eventually. Is there another fuse in the engine compartment panel that controls the fuel pump? I checked but could not see anything. My OVP and FPR have both been replaced in the last 5 years.

...had a similar problem last year on my 190E 2.6. It turned out to be the fuel accumulator. Search for a couple of posts by me on the subject to learn about the simple tests I ran to isolate the problem.
I have yet to saw it apart to do the failure analysis I mentioned, but maybe next week. Duke |
