replace conductor plate 1998 c230

I had the old conductor plate replace because i got the code p0715 speedsensor/transmission issue. but the car does a hard shift when put in reverse or drive it still doing the same as before when put in gear my question is do i need to have the new conductor plate program for it to work properly or is something else going on. Thanks anyone.

The trans computer should reset it's self when good parts are installed but there is some evidence that the codes need reset ( see post 12 )

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/373358-w210-722-6-there-anyway-reset-transmission-codes-without-multiplexers.html

Somewhere on the net there is a chart showing codes and what clears them. ( Key cycle , scan tool reset )

Benzworld forum has info on resetting a 722.6xx trans. You use the gas pedal and cycle the key. Then drive it the way you like too.Either easy or hard,it will learn your shift patterns.

I tried that when you have to turn your key to the position right before start and hold the gas pedal down for 15 seconds then remove key and restart car. That did work at first but some reason it stop working and continue the hard shift when put in gear, this cause me to replace the conductor plate, because code p0715 appeared and im still getting the hard shift when i place the gears in reverse and drive after replacing the conductor plate?? what could this be?

Conductor plates on the 722.6 don't have a computer in them like the later 7 speed so no special work is needed when changing one.

Is the key / gas pedal thing for clearing codes, clearing adaptives, or clearing learned driving style?

When you get the hard engagement ( park to Rev or Drive ) , does the transmission upshift properly or is is stuck in one gear? ( 2nd )

When you get the hard engagement, does the engine get pulled down like it is going to stall? Sometimes the torque converter clutch can drag making engagement harsh.

When the trans goes into limp mode, line pressure is set at max hence the hard engagement.

The trans is actually in 2nd gear in limp mode.

You need to scan for codes then fix that and the hard engagement will take care of it's self.

Thank You guys for your comments and suggestions it has been fix my conductor plate and TCU was bad. first the conductor plate speed sensor code 0715 was my problem then the TCU was effected by transmission fluid entering the circuit board, running like a champ!
