1999 e320 4matic wagon brake issue

my friend's car....
driving in the snow some weeks back and he hit a pot hole. after this the car acted like the front brakes were stuck on and it was difficult to move. he left it parked and called AAA....

since it was snowing they said it would likely be the next day until they picked it up...

he walked back to the car to see if he could move it to a less conspicuous spot and it had cured itself and he was able to drive it home....

the next day it started acting up again and has been at the shop since.
his mechanic is not sure what is amiss so i thought i would search the forum for some answers.

almost nothing in the archives that i could find.

anyone have an idea what might be going on?

thanks
g
