Many w211 low voltage issue HELP!

My 2007 e350 w211 has been starting to show some issues and I just purchased the MB II to figure some of these issues. First issue has been that the IR remote would only work when at the car. Replaced the batteries and have the tried both remotes and still the same. I checked for error and the MB II error was supply voltage of the control unit is too low????? Don't understand

A 07 should have a RF remote not IR. As for low voltage, you need to find the RF receiver and measure voltage at the terminals with the unit plugged in.

Thanks for the help 97 SL320. I have tried to find this reciever for some time and no luck. It seems that most of the faults have been low voltage issue. I have a 6 month old MB battery and the charging system is working fine. Could the second battery be going bad and where do I find this module?

With the MB II, check the "actual values" for voltage at idle and driving around. You should see 13.8-14.5v depending on the situation at all time. Your alternator might not be charging sufficiently.

Well, part of the problem is that your car is too "new".

Lots of members here think a W123 is the ultimate Mercedes, and have no experience on the newer cars. Until a significant number of people own, and work on, the newer models, group knowledge is going to remain thin.

In my case, I own newer MBs, and my familiarity with them is directly correlated with the problems I encounter. Fortunately, the newer cars have, for me at least, not proven to be too problematic so far.

Jim

Thanks for the explanation Jim, I had an idea it could be that. Do you know of another forum that you think would be better with newer cars? It not a major problem or I would have gone to the dealer at this point.
Thanks again
Franco
