W126 HVAC Blower Motor R&R

I've gone back in the threads, but couldn't find any help.
The heat has been running constantly in this northern WI cold, and the blower motor squeal is driving me nuts. I assume the grease on the shaft is dried up.
I'd prefer getting the replacement motor for $90 rather than the entire unit for $250.
Does anyone know how to get the fan cage off the shaft in one piece, and the R&R done? Is there a special type of wheel puller, or rigged up tool you can recommend?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
