how can i get rid of that annoying buzzer when i put the key in my ignition

ive traced the buzz down to a buzzer located behind the insturment cluster of my 1994 e320.. the only thing is there are lots of wires going into it.. if i simply unplug it will i cause a bunch of other problems..and if so.. how can i simply get rid of that annoying sound????
