Finally found my oil leak! It is from the sense plug on the side of the oil pan. Not sure if it is the electric from the oval looking larger seal having two screws on either side, or from the electric feed-through itself within this assembly. Is there a 'typical' failure mode? Is there something I might try tightning? I did try to tighten the two screw, but they were already very, very secure.
-best regards, guenter |

The part you're describing is the oil Level sending unit. There is an o-ring that sometimes leak but the sensor is the most common part to fail.

thank you! Indeed, it does appear that the leak is coming from 'within' the oil-sense- unit assembly; ie. from around the plastic electric feed-through. I take it that I/dealer should replace the whole oil-sense- unit next oil change. I do this by removing the 2 screws on either side and replacing the whole assembly, correct?
-regards,and thanks again guenter |

You are correct, have the sending unit replaced the next time the oil is changed!!
