W211.065 - WSS - Weight Sensing System
This is 2004 E320, 211.065.
How can I positively determine if my car is actually equipped with this system or not? |

Your car is definitely equipped with WSS. The “PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF” light should turn off a second or two after someone sits in the R/F seat........

Yep, even the W210's had this feature. My 2001 wagon does.

I think you're confusing WSS with simple Passenger Seat mat Occupancy Sensor.
WSS is 4 frame sensors, control module, calibration etc… I doubt you'll find WSS on any W210. It was fitted on W211 around 2005, it's unclear to me if this system is present on my 2004. |

Ah I see. Is WSS an included part of airmatic or the ABC suspension? I would assume so....

I don't think so. I don't have Airmatic or ABC suspension… WSS is about passenger seat/ airbag/ seat belt. But I'm not familiar with all the details.
My problem is that car was coded as WSS and I'm not convinced that was correct coding. I have interior CAN bus configuration fault related to WSS (see attached image). So I need to verify if have this module or not. Hence my question… How? Looking under the seat that has Driving dynamics, massage, heating, cooling… there is so much crap under there… I can't tell if I have WSS control unit. Removing bottom cushion would not be my preferred option. |
