I have a very strange problem. My '79 300D gets water in the right side of the trunk and on the right passenger floor after a rain. It doesn't have to be a heavy rain either. I have a sun roof, but it is dry and appears intact. I have absolutely no indication of a water leak or stains anywhere visable inside the cabin or trunk. It's almost like it is coming up from somewhere. Has anyone had this problem?
P.S. I tried to duplicate the leak with a spray from a hose, and even a car wash, but I got negative results. Thanks, Joe |

Have the drain tubes for the sunroof blown out with air, this fixes 9 out of 10.

Don't know about the trunk, but I have a leak in the front, on the driver's side, dripping on the parking brake. The water comes down from inside the dash. I finally figured out with some help that the leak comes from the right hood hinge well, which is rusted on the inboard side. Water going down on that side ends up in the cockpit, even though the drain is OK (water doesn't accumulate).
Hope this helps. Nicolas |
