fixed leaky transmission

My car stopped shifting gears and I was stuck in first(1989 420sel) I went to my mechanic (with visions of a big transmission bill) and he told me to go to Wal-Mart and get some oil leak transmission additive and put in italong with some transmission fluid.. It Worked! So, before you do anything else try this first.
