I just read an answer from Benzmac on a 350SD question whereby the engine was smooth for 30 seconds and then become noisy, I have the opposite for the first 5 minutes the engine is rough, vibration is high and Rpm seems low. Once the engine is at 40 degrees C or above it smooths out. Any common areas of concern here?

My 300SD did the same thing when first started, compression was slowly slipping causing the shaking and vibrating until warmed up, then ran fine. Have your compression checked first. Oh, and on cold days or slightly cooler even I would plug in the block heater for quicker warm ups.

Have the glow system checked out if the problem bothers you .
