I've in the process of replacing the front d/s on a 2015 E350 4matic. The front universal joint failed at 170k miles. Anyway, I need the torque specs for the "front case" section to the transmission bolts. I've got the "rear case" torque at 10 Nm but have been unable to find the ones in question. For info the real long one that ties the front and rear rotating parts together is 29.8 Nm plus 180 degrees.

I got a sub to WIS and came up with the following for future reference:

bolt intermediate housing to transmission housing, 20Nm

bolt transmission cover to intermediate cover, 8 Nm

It is not that bad of a job. This will be the second time I've been in it. Unfortunately the first time around I must have damaged the seal on the output shaft to the front diff. I even noted that watching the youtube video where the guy had to do it a second time too because of damaging the seal.

There is a $27 bolt that gets replaced whenever the transfer case is taken apart. MN p/n is 000000-008248.

You will get about ~600 mL of tranny fluid out of the transfer case. There is a fill plug to use to refill it after buttoning everything up. I did this before putting the tranny mount back in (while rear of tranny was low).

I’ve actually done that job recently on my E350. The bolts connecting the front case section to the transmission should be torqued to about 35 Nm. Double-check with the service manual just to be safe, but that’s the spec I used without any issues
