Here is a pic of my euro triangle in my 190E  http://www.teamshaolinracing.com/tsr...dbbqgtg055.jpg

I was looking at the W201 trunk just the other night and came to the conclusion that the triangle does not mount centered on the trunk lid (where as the W124 triangle does).

Do you happen to have the MB part number for the W201 mounting bracket/clip?

Jim's500E 09-18-2003 09:45 AM

2phast...I would think the part number for the W201 would be the same as the W124s for that bracket, but I could be wrong...

I've seen on a few W124s that if you take off the trunk felt, there is an indentation on the back of it where you could cut the small hole so the top of the triangle slides up in there...or just buy the correct liner which, last time I checked, was like $75 US...triangle was about the same also. The bracket I saw went thru the felt into that mounting hole like the one pictured here. Such a great safety idea. :)

Hey, that 500E and garage look familiar....been there, think it was to look at some W201 seats.

ESVIC 09-22-2003 07:58 PM

That's right..Joel's Sport seats. How are you Rick? You came with a w124 400 or 420...right? Are you going to the GTG on the 4th?

2phast 09-23-2003 01:00 AM

Yep, black 95 E420, not mine of course. You can see my W201 at www.2phast.com

I can probably make that event, does not seem like too many are going to attend though..whats your status on importing a EVO I?

Oh, just to keep this thread on track. I picked up a euro triangle and mount for 5 pounds plus 10 pounds for shipping ($24.50 US), it should be here any time and I will post pictures once I have it.

In case anyone wants a triangle, this guy has plenty (MB wrecker in the UK). Just drop him a email or visit his web site.

ESVIC, looks good! Is there a lower bracket, or does the triangle just fit into holes in the trunk lid? Were those two part numbers all you needed, and how much did they cost?

NeilC 09-23-2003 09:52 AM

hook and loop fastening

Instead of the MB parts and cutting holes, what about hook and loop fasteners?

No lower brackets..Under the liner there are already holes for everything..no screws needed. You just need to cut 3 holes in the triangle liner mold..

TOP: shape of the bracket base
BOTTOM RIGHT: Hole for the rubber foot
BOTTOM LEFT: Hole for the rubber foot

The bracket just snaps to the hole already there. ONLY ADVICE I CAN REALLY TELL YOU IS PUT THE BRACKET AFTER YOU HAVE THE LINER BACK ON..TRUST ME!!!! THE BRACKET IS HARD TO TAKE OFF @#$%^&*

Benzwood 09-23-2003 01:45 PM

Thanks for the advice. :) How much did the two parts cost new?

Just saw 2phast's post and that looks attractive if the guy comes through.

ESVIC 09-23-2003 01:53 PM

The bracket I had for a long time...I think it was $10
The triangle I bought for $50 with shipping. I know I could have bought it cheaper..but I wanted it now and buy it from someone I know and can ask questions if I get stuck.

I would say..to be safe it's $50 for everything. Contact "Limited Edition" in this forum. I know he still has one (with bracket)..cool dude to do business with.

Based on the sellers feedback and the conversations I had with him, I am not worried about him "not coming through". Although, I guess anything is possible.
