140 driver's side window won't seal
still "seals" when doors are closed, but back part of driver's side window is a bit off. brand new regulator. what do I need to do to adjust it so the angle is correct when the window seals shut? Right now at speed, the window whistles, and it's annoying. Thanks!

Window jerking and/or seal may be due to a programming reset on the 140.
If you've had an electrical interruption due to battery failure or cable disconnect, the control chip may need to be re-programmed. Just happened to me. Why it was only one of the windows is beyond me. |

Good Morning
On the coupe models there are a number of adjustments that can be made in order to improve the mating of the two side windows to each other. I have always used strips of paper for a reference when doing any replacement work that involved side glass on the coupe models. I place the paper between the glass and the seal in numerous places in order to check it for sufficient tightness. Place a strip of paper anywhere along the seal surface then close the door. Pull on the paper and notice the resistance, does it pull freely? Does it tear? Does it pull and curl the paper on the way out............for optimum sealing strive for curling of the paper. For me this seems to have been an effective approach for resolving wind noises and/or water leaks associated with side glass on two door models. ![]() |
