Does anybody know if this remote control will work on a 96 C280?

Found it on Yahoo auctions and says like this:

"Original 500SL 320SL 600SL or S class Mercedes Key with remote. I do not know the application or model to be used with"

"Part number on remote is “140 760 14 06”

I have a similar one on my car that a friend gave me and after installing the batteries starting to work. (???!!!???)

Please advice.
