I sucessfully changed the dash in my 78 300D last weekend!
However I noticed the ignition switch is not
centered thru the hole in the dash.
Is it possible to loosen the switch and center it in the dash?

There is a certain amount of up and down movement but little in and out (side to side as concerns the dash). The steering lock has a pinch collar that would allow most anything but it is located by a centering screw that pretty much positions the lock in and out of the steering column.

You can loosen the screw and adjust then tighten back down.
