over the winter the temp gauge was arond 80C now it runs at a higher temp but only oround town at the stop lights could the fan clutch be bad
the electric fan comes on only at the upper mark on the gauge but will come on when running the A/C but it still runs a little high on the temp thanks Keith |

It sounds like the aux fan low circuit is not running with the A/C on. Check it first.

I have a '95 E320 (owned about 2 weeks now) and I have noticed that around town the temp. will get up to around 100 C and once I get up to speed on the road it drops back down to around 80 C. I just assumed this was normal seeing as how this is my first Mercedes. The temp. gauge was rock steady on all the Hondas and Toyotas I have owned.
Thoughts/ideas? thanks, engatwork |

engatwork,
As long as you're not losing coolant anywhere, this sounds normal. Good luck, ------------------ Larry Bible '84 Euro 240D, 523K miles '88 300E 5 Speed '81 300D Daughter's Car Over 800,000 miles in Mercedes automobiles |
