Hi. I would like to give a cooling system (1984 M110 engine, all metal radiator) a good flushing, and I've heard folks recommend a "citric acid" flush. I've got the MB p/n for the product (# 000-989-10-25), but when I went to buy it, they told me to be sure to also use an alkali neutralizer afterward. However, they didn't know what to use (they said they haven't used a citric acid flush in years) for the alkali treatment.
Does anyone know anything about this second step (what to use, how much to use)? In advance, thanks. |

Oh maybe a cup of sodium bicarb in a couple of gallons of warm water, then a good flush with clean water.

A dealer that doesn't know about products that MB requires on coolant flush every 2-3 years has lost touch. Just mix (powder) with warm water & run engine 20-30 min & then flush with water. Not much acid in this formula.
