The engine shock on this car was shot when I got it, so I found a replacement at the junkyard. Problem is, the old shock was not bolted at the bottom, and was dangling feely in its slot. The shock from the donor car was the same way, so I'm clueless as to how the shock attaches at the bottom. Does it attach with two nuts on either side of the engine bracket? It's obvious the way it mounts on top; it's just the bottom part that has me stumped...

Well I don't know about your car exactly, but I do know where it attaches to my 190E and it may very well be the same place. On my car the belt tensioner shock comes off the tensioner at an angle and bolts onto a bracket that is down where my oil pan connects to the bottom of the engine. I hope this helps you on your 300D. Sorry if it doesn't. I am sure someone else could give you a better answer.
